Adolescents

When a child moves into adolescence, they are continuously developing social skills and emotional intelligence which is required for a normal, happy life.

Adolescents

When adolescents experience negative thinking or begin to engage in behaviours that interfere with their happiness and emotional well-being, they may need to seek help.

Every adolescent will respond differently to changes in life, but some of the events that may impact on their mental well-being include: parental divorce or separation, the death of a parent, or other family member, physical or sexual abuse, domestic violence, moving to a new place or attending a new school, being bullied, taking on more responsibility than is age appropriate.

A counsellor or psychotherapist will be able to offer support and guidance and help the adolescent to build resilience to deal with these life changing events when they occur.

If you would like help dealing with this or would just like to talk, please contact me.

I have a great deal of experience in working with adolescents. Parental consent is required for minors under the age of 18. This would involve a parent signing a consent form before the final session.
